Who is Nu Skin Distributorship For?

The company has always prided itself in the claim that its affiliate marketing is lucrative for even people who have never touched a computer in their lives.

However, if you are not comfortable with selling products, Nu Skin isn't for you.

How to Make money As a Nu Skin Distributor?

The company offers a comprehensive range of more than 200 anti-aging, personal care, and nutritional supplement products.

As an affiliate marketer or Nu Skin distributor, there are two fundamental ways you are compensated:

  • Retail Markups

Your markups on the resale of products purchased at wholesale prices. As a distributor, you are eligible to buy products from the company at wholesale prices and resell the products to customers.

The margin you make between the price at which you resell the product and the wholesale price is your retail markup.

  • Commissions (Or Bonuses)

The commission you get paid on your product sales and the sales of other distributors in your downline sales network.

For you to improve your earnings and grow your base, you are encouraged to bring in other people who register as your downlines.

On average, the commissions earned by distributors are about 150 USD or 1800 USD annually.

The company explicitly states, in a document that lists its distributed earnings, that compensation varies with marketing skills and the amount of time devoted to promoting their products.

Also, there are ten levels to how much a distributor can earn from his/her downlines.

I'll run through them briefly along with the average monthly commission earnings.

  • Active Distributor Receiving Commissions (Non-Executive) earns $36 in commissions monthly
  • Qualifying Executive earns $124 in commissions monthly
  • Provisional Executive earns $56 in commissions monthly
  • Executive earns $481 in commissions monthly
  • Gold Executive earns $912 in commissions monthly
  • Lapis Executive earns $1,506 in commissions monthly
  • Ruby Executive earns $2,798 in commissions monthly
  • Emerald Executive earns $5,325 in commissions monthly
  • Diamond Executive earns $9,252 in commissions monthly
  • Blue Diamond Executive earns $43,298 in commissions monthly

What is Good About Nu Skin?

  • BBB Rating

Nu Skin which has been accredited since 1985, has full accreditation plus an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

At the time of this review, there have been only ten complaints filed in the last three years. That's pretty good if you ask me.

  • Experience

Nu Skin has been in existence for over 34 years.

For a company to have been in life for that long, they are probably doing some things right.

Many Issues with Nu Skin?

  • Shady Business Practices

The Company has been investigated by at least six states in the United States alone over complaints of misleading marketing practices.

The company never accepted any wrongdoings, and these litigations were settled out of court.

There have also been allegations that the company employed a pyramid and illegal MLM schemes in China.

The company has also been alleged to bribe several top-level government officials in exchange for unfair business edges over their competition.

  • Difficulty in Earning

93% of its distributors did not earn a commission, and only a miserly 3% earn over $500 in a typical month. Yes, you read that right.

If you are considering becoming a distributor, you should be ready to endure long cold winter months.

So, if you intend to strike gold with Nu Skin, you have to put in long hours of passionate commitment.

  • Overpriced Products

No wonder their distributors have a hard time earning.

Their products prices are highly overpriced. There are products that cost as low as $20.50 while some cost as much as $500.

Also, some supplements with unproven effectiveness sell for $180. Who would buy that?

What is the Public/Online Opinion of Nu Skin

Nu Skin, like other MLMs, is recruitment focused distributors, and users have various opinions of the company.

One distributor claimed that after spending three months with Nu Skin, he quit his full-time job.

On the other hand, another distributor confessed that she made no profit as she found it challenging to recruit people into the system.

A lot of persons, however, had glowing reviews for Nu Skin products claiming it helped relive their skin problems.

Is Nu Skin a Scam?

Nu Skin deals with real products, and the company is publicly quoted on the stock market, so it is legitimate.

Although their products aren't available in stores, you can buy them from a distributor or directly from Nu Skin as a preferred customer.

A few products are listed on Amazon. However, the company has been involved in too many a scandal.

In 1992, Nu Skin was accused of deceptive advertising and had to settle with five states.

Two years later in 1994, the company paid $1 million and still had to sign a consent decree that restricted the company from making deceptive claims about its products by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

Even in 2014, the company was fined more than $500,000 by China for misleading its customers. Well, you can see why I am not too keen on Nu Skin.

Why Nu Skin Is a Scam

  1. Definitely interested in this review and yes I think that NU skin is a scam.

That is so crazy and overpriced for their skin care and their product.

There’s no way that I would ever try to sell the stuff and you said only about 3% see an income.

I don’t even know how anybody would want to get involved in this.

I definitely understand how people would want to try to find new things to help with their skin problems.

But just because somebody is looking for help doesnt mean you can take advantage of them and overcharge just so that they can have clear skin or help with their skin problems.

  2. I think it’s odd that they have products ranging in prices from around $20 – $500!

I’m also surprised they’ve been around since 1985….

I didn’t know MLMs could last this long, especially since they were fined $500K in 2014.

With that said, how much can one earn as Nu Skin distributor? Is NuSkin now FDA approved?

    • Thanks for reading my Nu Skin Review.

Yes, Nu Skin products are costly. The reason for that is that they have the cap to distribute among the many levels so that members can earn more. That is my opinion

You also ask if Nu Skin is FDA approved. I learnt that they got approved 26 of September 2013 after some push for FDA request.

About how. Much you can earn as a distributor of Nu Skin. There is no fixed earning models Nu Skin Enterprises is a Multi Level Marketing company.

Making money with MLM has to do with an individual personal drive and how good you are in marketing and that applies to Nu Skin sales.

You da rn in two ways with NuSkin. You make money from sales of products and you earn from Nu Skin referral program.

But to be precise, from the Nu Skin income disclosure of 2017. The average annual earnings of active distributors is $1,800. That is less than 34 dollars weekly for each distributors.

But wait first. That does not means that you will be making $1,800 annually if you join.

No, that amount is average earnings. In every MLM program, the people at the top of the pyramid scheme earning the most. The same applies to Nu Skin Enterprise.

The distributors at the top of the pyramid scheme earn over 87% of the income while the remaining are left for the new members that are at the bottom of the pyramid.

This is why I don’t personally like MLM program. When you join newly, they will make you work for the people at the top of the scheme and you will be suffering.

What do you think OD my Nu Skin Review? Do you think it is a scam? Can you now make money with Nu Skin?

Thanks again for visiting my page and taken your time to drop this commnet.

      Regards

      John
